Hebrew is spoken by about 9 million people. Modern Hebrew had no native speakers at all in 1880, and is the only language revived into a national vernacular.

On our measured language map, its closest relatives are Sundanese, Arabic and Banjarese. If you speak one of those, much of the vocabulary will feel familiar from day one.

Structurally, verbs usually come before their objects; it is written in the Hebrew script, and the course teaches the writing system letter by letter with pronunciation shown while you learn.
